Maddie got to go to my mom's house for Vacation Bible School. It was a welcome break for me, I needed it as I am finished with the first trimester of baby number three. She had a wonderful time. She had something to do everyday. I'm glad she got to have this special time with them.

This year was Stuart's first birthday. Unfortunately, Chuck and I had to work so it was up to Grandma Ruth. As you know Stuart has severe allergies, I had actually found some special cake mix for the occasion. It all worked out, we celebrated at Rain Forest Cafe on Saturday.

Quilt of Love

My uncle Jerry found some quilted fabric in my paternal grandmother's cedar robe. He knew that his mother sewed, so naturally the squares were hers. He had two quilts made one for a girl and one for a boy. My cousin Matt had a daughter not long ago, so Annie got the girl's and Jerry had the boy's made for Stuart.

The lady that did the quilting said that she had not seen this type of quilting in about 50 years, so it confirmed Stuart's Great Grandmother made the quilt squares. I think it is amazing and wonderful to have such an heirloom. It gives me chills.

We have celebrated the birth of both my children with a party to celebrated the joys of grandparenting. Stuart's party was at my mom's on September 20th. He was on his best behavior, he got kisses from every grandmother in the room. We had a great time and thank you mom for hosting such a wonderful party. Thank you dad for taking all the pictures.

The toys and books on the table were my dad's when he was a little boy.

Vacation to St Thomas

It had been a long time since my husband and I have been alone together and away from children. We decided we were going to go to St Thomas with another couple that are good friends of ours. We only booked about 48 hours in advance, so it was a bit of a rush getting ready but worth it.

Chuck and I had to fly separately due to him working, so that gave me some girl time with Mishelle.

The coast of Florida We arrive at the airport and first thing Mishelle got her pina colada, I saved mine for the beach.

Grabbed a taxi to the hotel.

We had to wait to check in.

We checked out the hotel cause our rooms were not ready yet. Tried the complimentary "rum punch", figured out why it was complimentary. Ordered a drink and colapsed on the veranda looking at the ocean.

I decided this was not going to be so bad, first things first snokeling .

That night we had dinner at a wonderful restaurant called Craig and Sally's

Chuck arrived that afternoon and we had lunch and drinks. Then off to enjoy the night.

After a full night of fun we watched the sun come up and I was worried I was not going to get both my friends up the stairs but we made it. Beautiful sunrise watched with my husband.

We decided we were going to go to Coral World.

While eating Mishelle fed the local "squirrels".

This one actually jumed on her because she did not give it enough food.
I told you they are every where.

Chuck and I enjoyed snorkeling, he had never been. I could not have done it with out Mishelle's help. Chuck is not a good swimmer and actually got seasick. I felt bad he spent the rest of the day recovering on the beach.

We got to feed the fish, apparrently they like dog biscuits.

We had a wonderful trip, I really enjoyed the adult time with my husband.

After having Stuart and going back to work 3 weeks later. I need a few minutes of rest and relaxation.

Chuck was sweet enough to start the water, while I was getting some thing to eat.

I came upstairs and as expected Maddie is playing with the water.

I have never seen a baby love something so much. Stuart loves his mobile. He just smiles and laughs and talks to each little friend as they round the bend for a little visit. The only thing i think he loves more is his rocking chair.

Madeleine has had a blast being a big sister. She loves to hold him and she is so proud of her brother and her "job" of taking care of Stuart. She is showing me how to work the mobile. She's gotten so big. She still lets me hold her, but only for about 30 seconds at a time.

I have figured out that baby feet are just about the best think on earth. They don't stink, yet. They are soft and kissable. Stuart just giggles and smiles every time I kiss them. Manufactures prey on mom's like me. I have just a few examples of why I love them so much.

Stuart went to the doctor yesterday, he scratched his eye. Luckily the cornea was okay. He weighs 10.2 and is 22 inches long. Here are some new photos.

After Stuart's birth we had major problem with a heart murmer and jaundice. The jaundice lasted for 4 weeks, partially due to breast feeding. The heart murmer and the jaundice subsided and we received a clean bill of health. The only problem now is we visited the doctor so much that we are behind on our shots. We will catch up on those Tuesday.

The first bath became a family affair. From experience we learned that newborns are very slick. It was such a sweet time for me, I waited a long time for this little person. Giving a baby his first bath is always something a mother remembers.

He arrived health other than a few common problems. The labor was short thank goodness. I don't think I could have had another Maddie, she was 32 hours. Little boys love their mommy's so I only had a 8 hour labor, just like a regular work day. NOT!

Well everyone seems to be telling their labor story on their blog. So here's mine.

The morning of June 3, we had a scheduled amniocentesis. I went in at 5:oo AM, trying to prepare myself for the procedure. I mean come on, they are going to sick a needle the size of a skewer in my stomach, and I'm so big I can't even suck in to get away.

On the way in we run in to my fertility doctor, Dr. Jason Griffith, I asked him how bad the procedure was going to be. He told me I'm already as uncomfortable as I can get what's a little more.

GREAT!

So in we go check in and prepare mentally. I have to say this is the second time we have been checked in and my husband is not fast asleep with in 10 min of arriving. I think he was actually scared for me.

The ultrasound and contraction monitor showed I was already in labor and did not have any fluid. I don't have to have an amnio, AWSOME! I would have him in the next 24 hours anyway.

After pitocin, oxygen, and 20 minutes of pushing he arrived.

Just like a regular work day about 8 hours, unlike his sister who was 32 1/2 hours.

My dear friend Meredith wanted to honor the birth of our son with a baby shower. Since I have never had a shower, I was super excited. Most of you got invitations that Meredith made by hand and customized with personal touches to match the theme of Stuart's room. The shower was on May 30th. We had a wonderful time, so many cute things. I had a wonderful time with memories to last my lifetime.

I designed a necklace, because I did not like all of the Mother's Jewelry that was out on the market these days. I love it. It was handmade in rose, green and white gold. The letters are all hand stamped. Each one has the date engraved on the back, Ross has our wedding date.

A Brown Family Easter tradition is a Bunny cake. I have been making this cake since I was 8 years old. I enjoyed making it with Maddie this year. She did such a good job. She taste tested the icing, she decided she preferred the pink. I hope that you all have a wonderful and Happy Easter!

After much deliberation, we have decided on a theme. There is no particular method to the madness other than it was on sale. Now that we have decided, and placed our order, we get to wait til mid May for the items to arrive! Fun, I love having the urge to nest with nothing but a pack n play and four walls to stare at. For the most part I think we are ready. We have almost everything we need, but if you are feeling particularly generous we are accepting donations of costco and walmart gift cards for formula and diapers!

Planters Cheez Ball Crisis

As you all know we are expecting.

I finally had a mild craving.

Planter's Cheez Balls

You know the ones blue can, yellow lid.

I had them when I was pregnant with Maddie. So, while Chuck was at Walgreen's I asked him to get me some. He called, and very nicely stated that they did not have any and would I like Cheetos instead? NO! DUH! They have their own unique taste, I must have them. He went to HEB, none there either. He comes home hoping that I will be satisfied with what he has.

Meanwhile, I am googling Planter's Nuts and coming up very disappointed.

Apparently they do not make cheez balls anymore. Millions of people are in uproar. Good to know that I am not alone. This does not help my craving and I am starting to get irritated.

Chuck comes in bearing gifts from the cheese gods, what are we to do?

We must have a taste test. We have three judges. You know who they are.
We actually have five but dogs will eat anything, so their votes did not count.
Here they are in no particular order.

1.) Fisher Cheese Balls

These had the advantage cause they are round. Weird after taste though, little sour like licking a battery!

2.) Cheetos Brand Crunchy Cheetos

These are wonderfully cheesy, but too crunchy, not much like a cheez ball.

3.) Cheetos Brand Cheese Puffs
Not round! Light and airy, like a cheez ball but not the same.

Yesterday we went to a Halloween Costume Contest! There was trick or treating and lots of fun for the kids at Sunset Ridge. Every store did something fun!

Maddie took 1st place in the contest!

This past Sunday we went to my parent's house to celebrate my mom's birthday. They had just returned from a trip to Canada. They had a great time.

Pumpkin Patch

It's FALL!

My favorite time of year. We decided to go to the pumpkin patch on Huebner. We had a great time. Maddie enjoyed running and trying to lift different pumpkins.

The shower is definitely a sleeper, producing only a handful of languid meteors per hour in most years. But watch out if the dragon awakes! On occasion, fiery Draco has been known to spew forth hundreds – if not thousands – of meteors in a single hour. Since the moon is at first quarter this year during the shower’s peak, this hard-to-predict shower is worth checking out. Maddie went to Paula's house today for the first time. I was nervous, but better I be home than at work on the first day. So now what, I am alone.

I went to Starbuck's to get a coffee and a muffin on my way to work last Saturday morning. I decided to get a muffin. I got really busy at work and could not eat it. I decided to wait until I got home. I started at the top like we all do and bit into something really hard. I pulled a stick out of my mouth. Talk about fiber.

We decided to burn of some energy tonight.

I threw the ball to Molly for an hour.

Cupcake Couture

I LOVE CAKE!! I mean I really LOVE cake! Chuck, Maddie and I have found a new place to enjoy a treat. We like to go to Cupcake Couture. It's a really decadent bakery that specializes in cupcakes. I have found that there are benefits to cupcakes over our usual treat, ice cream.

My Rationalizations
1) Lower Cholesterol Content
2) More affordable
3) They look so pretty that I feel like it is naughtier than ice cream.
4) Closer to the house (we save gas, GO GREEN!)

Well, buying a new home has been wonderful, wonderful work! We are having fun getting settled. My parents are coming into town to help do somethings for the house. Dad said I should get the garage painted, so we can put up shelves. I did not realize how hot it would be at 9PM, but it was hot. My face got Flying W Red. I have not turned that red in a while!

Today was my first day back at work after two weeks of vacation. I was really tired, I guess I have to get use to being on my feet again. So, I am lying in bed getting ready to go to sleep and I decide to check my email at the last minute. Maddie comes running in with her pink horse, neighing like crazy and I could not stop laughing. She actually did it on camera for me!

I can not keep a straight face!

Playing The Water Harp

We are almost settled in to our new house. We are slowly unpacking, it's amazing how much stuff we have. As Chuck says "I have". We noticed that our yard was getting very long after a few good rains, so we went to Sears and bought a craftsman mower. Great! Chuck was very excited to mow the yard. I walked outside and our yard was scalped. We actually have a reverse mohawk in the backyard. Apparently there was a misprint in the directions of the mower and the wheels were adjusted according to the directions.

SO, now that we have no grass, we must water the yard to regrow some. Miss Maddie did not like the idea of the sprinkler alone, she liked the idea that it was a harp. The sprinkler (harp) makes noise when you pluck the water strings. Daddy supplied the musical notes and she loved to play the water harp. After a while no music was needed, nor was her dress. She soaked it running through the sprinkler.

So , the other night while emailing documents about the house, Maddie was playing behind the couch. All of a sudden I hear, uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho. Chuck and I looked at each other like we could not beleive our ears. So we tried counting with her and it worked.

We had an easter egg hunt with the Black Family on Sunday. We had a lot of fun, and some of the eggs had money in them. Madison scored all of the money eggs, no doubt with a little help from her dad. It's kind of hard to hunt eggs with little ones they kind of lose attention. Over all though the eggs were a hit.

Last night I could not sleep, I was so excited. When I woke this morning Maddie felt warm, but I dressed her gave her tylenol and off we went. Chuck went to pick up the cake, Uncle Dan and I were going to meet him at pump it up. We pull in I get out, open the back door to get Miss Maddie out and I stopped to look at her (she looks so pretty). I said Happy Birthday Honey! No sooner did I say that she got sick all over herself.

We need to regroup FAST! The party is in 6 minutes.

Overall everyone had a great time! Maddie did not get to play but really enjoyed seeing everyone have a great time. We brought her back in time to sing and open a few presents. I want to thank everyone that came. Especially Chuck, my dear Husband who took her home and cleaned her up. Uncle Dan who took the fabulous photos, and Jami who helped, me so much (I lost my voice.)
